Weapons by title (Borderlands)

This page contains a list of all weapon titles in Borderlands.

Weapon Title

Weapon Title tells you the series of the weapon and what effects it will have. Any weapon with flavor text is unique to that manufacturer. To know what each flavor text means, go here.

Combat Rifles

Burst/Semi-Automatics

• Rifle - Basic title
• Cobra - Burst fire, affects weapon accuracy and recoil
• Pounder - Semi-Automatic Fire only (1 click fires 1 shot), generally high damage and accuracy, low fire rate and clip size
• Stomper - Small ammo clip, has scope, does good damage, 3 round burst, and lowers bullet velocity
• Destroyer - The destructor has come - Unloads the entire magazine when scoped. Hyperion only
• Guardian - Hold your ground... Forever - Ammo regeneration. Tediore only
• Raven - 2 more bullets make all the difference - Shoots in bursts of 5 rounds instead of 3. Higher stability. Dahl only
• Avenger - Uncommon Power - High zoom, +50% critical hit damage, single shot, slow ammo regeneration. High magazine, higher damage, high tech. Tediore only

Fully Automatics

• Machine Gun - Basic title
• Havoc - Balanced increase in damage, magazine size, recoil reduction, and fire rate
• Mauler - Increased damage
• Massacre - Increased accuracy
• Bastard - TORGUE, Bastard Guns for Bastard People! - Very high damage and increased magazine size; lower accuracy and increased recoil. Torgue only
• Ogre - Ogre SMASH! - Explosive rounds, x3-4. Atlas only
• Revolution - Guns of the Revolution will never fall silent! - Extended magazine, lower fire rate. Vladof only
• S&S Draco - Dragon Fire! - Incendiary x2-4, increased magazine capacity, increased accuracy, lower recoil. S&S only
• Serpens - Poison in your veins - Corrosive x3 or x4, serpentine bullets. Large Magazine and High chance to proc. High Accuracy and High Damage. S&S only

Pistols

Repeater Pistols

• Repeater - Basic title
• Lacerator - +200% Melee Damage
• Needler - Increased rate of fire
• Swatter - Higher accuracy
• Raptor - Higher Damage
• Firehawk - Bring the HEAT! - Incendiary x4, can proc up to x6. High Accuracy. Maliwan only
• Gemini - Double Whammy. - Fires two bursts of two projectiles each. S&S only
• Hornet - Feel the Sting - Fires two-round bursts of corrosive rounds. Dahl only
• Invader - 12 bullets invade your skull - Unloads the entire magazine when scoped. Hyperion only
• Protector - Ammo is no longer an issue - Ammo regeneration. High rate of fire. Tediore only
• Rebel - Never stop shooting! - Extended magazine. High Damage, High rate of fire. Vladof only
• Troll - Pain Heals - Regenerates health. Atlas only
• Violator - Your move, Creep. - Fires 3-round bursts with 3 bullets each. Torgue only
• Nemesis - There is no escape - Shock 3x / x4, procs adds additional corrosive projectiles, fixed pattern. Hyperion only

Machine Pistols

• Machine Pistol - Basic title, +20 Magazine Size
• Torment - Extreme fire rate and usually good damage bonus
• Fury - higher rate of fire
• Rage - 5 Shot Burst Fire
• Reaper - Slice, Slice - +300% Melee damage. Killing an enemy with this weapon's blade will restore health. High Fire Rate, high Accuracy. Hyperion only
• Thanatos - Big Tony Says "Hi" - Extended magazine. S&S only
• Vengeance - Vengeance is yours - Chance to bypass shields. Vladof only
• Stalker - You can run, but you can't hide. - Bullets ricochet 5 times. slow velocity. Vladof only

Revolvers

• Revolver - Basic title
• Razor - +200% Melee Damage
• Masher - Multiple projectiles per round. (x7)
• Justice - Increased Accuracy, Increased Damage
• Law - Increased rate of fire, Medium accuracy
• Viper - Increased Accuracy
• Anaconda - Long and Strong - Increased accuracy and damage. Dahl only
• Chimera - A beast of many forms - Fire, Lightning, and Poison - Explosive x3 - x4. The bullets themselves deal explosive damage, but have a chance to be another element: incendiary, shock or corrosive. Atlas only
• Defiler - Give Sick - Corrosive x4, chance for increased contagion. Maliwan only
• Equalizer - Unending Firepower - Ammo regeneration. Tediore only
• Unforgiven - It's a helluva thing... - +100% extra critical hit damage. Jakobs only
• Aries - Your life is mine - Shock and transfusion rounds. Increased Damage. Atlas only

Rocket Launchers

• Rocket Launcher - Basic title
• Destructor - Increased damage
• Harpoon - Increased accuracy, Increased rocket velocity, Smaller clip
• Mongol - Beware the Horde! - Vladof only
• Nidhogg - Death rains from above - Hyperion only
• Redemption - Monster Kill! - Torgue only
• Rhino - The Unstoppable Force - Maliwan only
• Leviathan - It Rises! - Torgue only
• Undertaker - Take 'em UNDER - Torgue only

Grenade Launchers (not in the game)

• Onslaught - Artillery Strike! - Dahl only
• Rainmaker - I feel a storm coming - S&S only
• Terror - Mister Jakobs send his regards - Jakobs only

Shotguns

Combat Shotguns

• Shotgun - Basic title
• Matador - +3 projectiles fired, higher damage, lowest accuracy (often 0.0)
• Scattergun - +2 projectiles fired, lower accuracy
• Shredder - +2 projectiles fired, lower accuracy
• Carnage - Holy crap! It shoots rockets! - Shoots rockets
• Bulldog - One Bad Dog! - Dahl only
• Defender - I can do this all day... - Tediore only
• Fire - Have a nice day! - Torgue only
• Hydra - Five heads of Death - Atlas only
• Striker - Sniper Rifles are for Chumps. - Jakobs only
• Jackal - This dog bites - Dahl only

Assault Shotguns

• Shotgun - Basic title
• Brute - Increased Damage
• Death - Increased Accuracy
• Sweeper - Low accuracy, high spread
• Butcher - Ahhh... Fresh meat! - Hyperion only
• Crux - Bring out your Dead - Maliwan only (Actually called the Plague in the game files, a typo causes this and the S&S Crux to share names.)
• Crux - Cross their heart, hope they die. - S&S only
• Hammer - Drop the Hammer! - Vladof only

Sniper Rifles

Sniper Rifles (General)

• Sniper - Basic title
• Drive - Increased rate of fire, Lower accuracy
• Lance - Increased accuracy, increase power
• Thunder - Higher damage

Sniper Rifles (Bolt/Pump Action only)

• Sniper - Basic title
• Gamble - Lowered accuracy, 250% Critical Hit Damage (as opposed to 200%), if elemental, then increased effect (x3 or x4)
• Hawkeye - Increased accuracy
• Cyclops - I have you in my eye, sir. - Atlas only
• Skullmasher - Makes their brains hurt - Jakobs only
• Surkov - For the Motherland. - Vladof only
• Volcano - Pele demands a sacrifice! - Maliwan only
• Bessie - That's my girl... - Jakobs only

Semi-Automatic Sniper Rifles

• Wrath - Almost always elemental and sometimes x3 sometimes x4
• Cobra - I LIKE IT! - Torgue only
• Invader - BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM - Hyperion only (Actually called the Executioner in the game files, a typo / copypaste caused this.)
• Nailer - Thwack! - Dahl only
• Orion - A hunter lives among the stars... - S&S only
• Penetrator - Sniper killer, qu'est-ce que c'est? - Dahl only

Sub-Machine Guns

• SMG - Basic title
• Anarchy - Fires 4 projectiles for 2 ammo cost, and highly reduced accuracy (In truth they fire 4 projectiles with 2 ammo cost due to Anarchies having the Double accessory, the Prefix itself may be overwritten by a material Prefix)
• Bruiser - Higher damage, Medium fire rate
• Thumper - Higher Damage, Lower Fire Rate (Capped at 4.2)
• Stinger - Very high fire rate (12.0+), and Medium to High damage
• Bitch - Smack 'em - Hyperion only
• Gasher - Tear it up - Torgue only
• Hellfire - We don't need no water... - Maliwan only
• Savior - Hallelujah - Tediore only
• Wildcat - The ultimate close quarters feline. - Dahl only
• Tsunami - Flee the wave! - Maliwan only
