Volcano is a legendary sniper rifle in Borderlands 2 manufactured by Maliwan.
Volcano is obtained randomly from any suitable loot source, but has an increased chance to drop from The Warrior located in Vault of the Warrior. It also has an increased chance to drop from the Handsome Sorcerer located in Dragon Keep.

Special Weapon Effects[]

Pele humbly requests a sacrifice, if it's not too much trouble. – Always incendiary. Decreased damage and elemental effect chance. 80% splash damage versus standard Maliwan sniper rifle splash of 50%.

Usage[]

The Volcano should be used from long range in typical Sniper Rifle fashion. However, it's worth noting that while the Volcano is strong enough on its own to let the fire damage it produces take second priority if the Volcano is fired at tightly packed groups of enemies, the fire will spread to other targets in close proximity to the primary target.

Notes[]

  • The fire cloud inflicts 80% of listed weapon damage and is boosted by skills that boost grenade damage.
  • Occasionally the incendiary DoT glitches, inflicting only one point of damage per DoT tick.

Trivia[]

  • The flavor text is a rephrasing of the Volcano's flavor text in Borderlands but with a polite tone.
    • The flavor text is also a reference to the Hawaiian volcano goddess, Pele, with inhabitants throwing animals into a volcano as a sacrifice to her.
  • On some bladed variants, the blade takes on a more purple tone compared to other blades on other sniper rifles, referring to obsidian, a sharp glass formed in volcanoes. All variants also have this purple tone in the details of the weapon.
  • The Volcano's skin has a charred appearance and uses the same colors as blue quality variants but with increased saturation and reversed pattern.
