Strategy and Strengths

This Mordecai build is designed to maximize gun damage, accuracy and healing. I put single talent points in less important abilities to take advantage of bonuses on my COM's. I have never done much with either pistols or melee, so I have avoided talents that only boost those abilities.

The Killer and Relentless abilities give you a huge burst of damage after killing an enemy. When fighting a boss, I will try to kill an add, then focus on the boss until these buffs drop. Then I will kill another add and again focus on the boss. If the additional adds are causing me problems, I will then use the burst to take the next add down.

With the Focus and Deadly talents, it can be a big advantage to use more accurate and low recoil weapons that might have slightly lower damage values and then focus on getting critical hits. This can be huge when fighting enemies that are stunned or slowed by critical hits.

Healing is gained from both Out For Blood and Riotous Remedy. These allow for a pretty aggressive play style that allows you to take a lot of damage and be healed up quickly afterwards. If I'm pushing content that is hurting me a lot, I will use a Survivor COM and duck behind cover when my health gets low. I will wait and let my health recover until my shield recharges back to full. With full shields I will then kill some enemies or release Bloodwing to top off my health.

Additional Notes

I've intentionally skipped a couple of talents, so here's my reasoning for some of them.

Trespass - This ability seemed awesome to me when I first started playing. After using it for a while I've dropped it from my build. It does allow some over-powered kills in some situations, but on enemies that are hard to kill, it's been my experience that the shield is often destroyed by the end of the fight due to Bloodwing, grenades, or elemental effects. I came to the conclusion that if the shield was being destroyed anyway, then those 5 talent points weren't really doing me any good. In addition, if the enemy doesn't have a shield then those 5 talent points are a waste as well. Either way, I feel I'm better off investing those points into other abilities.
