- For the legendary pistol in Borderlands 2, see Unkempt Harold.
Unkempt Harold is a legendary pistol in Borderlands 3 manufactured by Torgue, and is exclusive to the Bounty of Blood DLC. It is obtained randomly from any suitable loot source, but has an increased chance to drop from Caber Dowd located in Bloodsun Canyon.
Special Weapon Effects[]
I wasn't counting either. – Shots split twice to create four additional projectiles. Consumes 3 ammo per shot.
Usage & Description[]
The Unkempt Harold is only recommended for medium or long-range combat to ensure that all of the bonus projectiles will spawn, and to avoid crippling the character with splash damage.
Notes[]
Trivia[]
- The Unkempt Harold is a returning pistol from Borderlands 2.
- The name "Unkempt Harold" is a variation on Dirty Harry.
- Both the name of the gun and the flavor text are references to the 1971 movie Dirty Harry. After the film's first shootout scene, Dirty Harry holds his gun on a bank robber and says: "Now I know what you're thinking. Did he fire six shots? Or only five?"
- The spread pattern on variants that fire 3 projectiles (3-5-7) is a reference to the .357 S&W Magnum cartridge whose introduction began the "Magnum" era of handgun ammunition. Oddly enough, Harry Callahan's revolver was a Smith and Wesson 29, which is chambered in .44 Magnum, not .357 Magnum.
