The Tunguska's mechanic is vaguely similar to the "Mortar" mode of [[Vladof]] rocket launchers. This allows it to deal damage to enemies hiding behind cover with the second explosion, and makes it very cost-effective per rocket since each one will explode twice. Despite this, its overall strength is lackluster at best due to its reduced damage, making its damage output one of the lowest of all rocket launchers. Its lack of an alternate fire mode also renders it poor against stronger enemies, as the user cannot stack stickies onto the target for extra damage.
The Tunguska mechanic allows its rockets to blow up in the same area twice, making it very cost-effective and useful for second winds.

Special Weapon Effects

Crack the skye. – Reduced damage. No Alternative Fire mode. Always reloads its rockets one-by-one. Upon impact, generates a second larger rocket that flies straight up then explodes a second time.

Usage & Description

The Tunguska's mechanic is vaguely similar to the "Mortar" mode of Vladof rocket launchers.

Trivia

  • The Tunguska is a returning weapon from Borderlands 2 but as a legendary weapon instead of pearlescent.
  • The name Tunguska refers to the Tunguska event, a mysterious explosion in 1908 which flattened 2,000 square kilometers of Siberian Tundra.
  • The flavor text is a reference to the 2009 studio album of the same name by heavy metal band Mastodon.
