The Shooting Star is a legendary maylay shield in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel manufactured by scavs.
It is obtained randomly from any suitable loot source, but has an increased chance to drop from Lost Legion Powersuit Noob located in Lunar Launching Station during the mission Red, Then Dead.
Special Weapon Effects
Don't look up. – Extremely high roid damage. While depleted, each melee attack that connects with a target is accompanied by a 'shooting star', which inflicts additional explosive damage.
Usage & Description
The Shooting Star is a very powerful roid shield, surpassing many high-quality maylay shields.
Notes
- A hotfix issued starting from November 11 re-balanced both this shield and Bigg Thumppr, severely reducing the roid damage bonus of each shield. The Shooting Star's roid damage at level 50 after the hot fix is approximately 15,000; before the hot fix, it averages 100,000 roid damage.
- The Shooting Star may spawn with a Maliwan capacitor, granting immunity against shock, corrosive, fire or cryo elemental damage. It may also spawn with a Torgue capacitor, granting the Blast-Proof prefix and explosive damage reduction to its wearer.
