Special Weapon Effects
Everything has to be magical. – Always elemental. Increased magazine capacity and heavily increased damage. Fires a large, slow-moving orb that travels through enemies, deals area-of-effect damage, and explodes on impact or after maximum travel distance.
Usage & Description
The Lob's massive damage values cause it to decimate anything it touches. It can easily shred through an entire mob of enemies, and at only one ammo per shot, does so incredibly efficiently.
The orb damages all enemies in a small radius around them, meaning they don't have to hit a target directly, though there will no graphical effect other than damage numbers that the orb is harming enemies it does not hit. As it passes through targets, it will deal multiple instances of damage and larger targets can take significant damage from this. The orb will explode on impact with a surface or after its maximum travel distance, dealing splash damage. Orbs will not damage the character directly, but the impact explosion radius will, as with all area of effect damage.
The slow projectile speed is the weapon's main drawback, making it difficult to use at anything beyond close range. Orbs travel slowly enough that a player can outrun them and suffer damage when the orbs burst. Projectile speed bonuses will allow the orbs to travel faster and farther, but this also means they can do less damage if the projectile moves past the enemy too quickly.
- Splash damage bonuses are only applied to the impact of the orbs and does not affect the damage of orbs themselves.
