The Thanatos is a Legendary Machine Pistol manufactured by S&S Munitions.

Usage & Description

The Thanatos' special effect basically turns a pistol into a large-magazine SMG. Mordecai, the Pistol specialist, can make exceptional use of the Thanatos: handled like an SMG, it gets all the skill/mod benefits granted to pistols. "Double" versions of Thanatos offers an alternative to Anarchy SMGs.

What makes the Thanatos so interesting is that the special effect comes from the magazine, meaning there is no limits to the variations available on the Thanatos: Elemental, double, etc.

One of the three pre-Knoxx Pearlescent weapons.
Following the theme of Greek mythology throughout the game, Thanatos shares a name with the ancient Greek personification of death.

Mechanics

The Thanatos effect comes from the mag3_SandS_Thanatos magazine, which is based on mag3. For an explanation on how to interpret the information on the following table, please see the stat modifiers page.
