Ten Gallon is a legendary submachine gun in Borderlands 3 manufactured by Tediore. It is obtained randomly from any suitable loot source.
Special Weapon Effects[]
Let me tell you about my best friend. – Reduced fire rate and Increased damage. When reloaded, the discarded gun turns into a hovering drone that follows the character while facing the same direction and shoots at enemies. Subsequent discarded weapons will turn into a magazine, flying towards the drone to reload it. Cannot damage enemies with a reload throw.
Usage & Description[]
The Ten Gallon improves on standard turret Tediore guns by making the discarded gun a flying drone, preventing it from accidentally exploding against enemies on the ground. Along with its high base damage for a submachine gun, the Ten Gallon can put out a dependable amount of damage if the drone is consistently kept loaded. However, the drone does not last long if the weapon is put away, and the player cannot toss the gun like a standard Tediore weapon, preventing abuse of the manufacturer's notoriously powerful reload throws.
All in all, the Ten Gallon is effective as a direct weapon, instead of the pseudo grenades Tediore is renowned for.
Notes[]
- The drone cannot score critical hits.
- Skills that affect the gun will also be applied to the drone.
- When the drone runs out of ammo, it will continue to follow the character until they reload.
- The drone will follow the character for several minutes if not destroyed, even while in a vehicle. Switching weapons will allow the drone to remain active, but only for a few seconds.
Trivia[]
- The unique text is a lyric from the song Best Friend by Harry Nilsson.
