In general, the Tattler should be considered a shotgun replacement rather than a traditional medium-range submachine gun, its high rate of fire making it capable of throwing up a "wall of bullets" to annihilate nearby foes. As such it is best used by players who spend much of their time close to their targets, such as a melee-oriented [[Zer0]] or tanking [[Salvador]], or by a [[Gaige]] build incorporating [[Close Enough]].

With the new update buffing Seraph weapons, the Tattler is now much more effective. It now fires three shots instead of one, similarly to the slagga, and the bullets now move faster (though still slower than a normal bullet). This makes it much more effective in mid-range combat.

Tattler is a Seraph Submachine Gun manufactured by the Bandits. The Tattler can be obtained by trading with the Seraph Vendor in Oasis or as a rare drop from Hyperius the Invincible and Master Gee the Invincible.

Special Weapon Effects

If thou'st would'st snitch'st, acquire thine stich! – Always spawns with blade accessory. Fires two slow-moving projectiles with a large spread at the cost of one ammo.

Usage & Description

Like most Seraph weapons found at the Oasis vendor, the Tattler fires low-speed, high-damage projectiles at relatively low accuracy. The Tattler offsets this by providing two projectiles at the cost of one ammo, doubling the damage output of the weapon. This gives the Tattler the highest damage-per-ammo output of any submachine gun available in Borderlands 2, outperforming even the Slagga. However, unlike the Slagga the Tattler is not suitable for long-range engagements, and the "low accuracy, slow projectile" combination makes it tricky to use even at medium range. It works best in close range engagements, especially with the mandatory melee attachment.

In general, the Tattler should be considered a shotgun replacement rather than a traditional medium-range submachine gun, its high rate of fire making it capable of throwing up a "wall of bullets" to annihilate nearby foes. As such it is best used by players who spend much of their time close to their targets, such as a melee-oriented Zer0 or tanking Salvador, or by a Gaige build incorporating Close Enough.

Notes

  • "Stitch" is misspelled in the weapon's special text as "stich".
  • Because the Tattler always spawns with a blade attachment, the only prefix it will ever use is "Bladed", regardless of the weapon's other stats.
  • The red text is a pseudo-Early Modern English form of "snitches get stitches", a catchphrase associated with the controversial Stop Snitchin' campaign. The name of of the gun, Tattler, is a synonym for "snitch".
