Minor edits not actually minor

Sorry, I accidentally left the "minor edit" checkbox checked when I added some PS3 codes and deleted expired codes. Can't go back and unmark those edits minor, and not worth undoing/redoing just for that, but I thought I'd apologize and mention it just in case. MacMog (talk) 01:08, October 28, 2013 (UTC)

No problem... the SHiFT code page is in dire need of continuing updates and no one has been appointed as such... I have resolved to do that when I have a bit more time. Any contributions to the page is appriciated. Final signature 17:02, October 28, 2013 (UTC)

Codes still working

Have just checked all key codes as well as the head and skin codes for PS3, found one expired key code which I marked as expired on PS3 as I am not able to verify if they are working on PC and XBox 360 but current on PS3 as of January 14, 12:05 PM. SleeplessCDN (talk) 17:32, January 14, 2014 (UTC)

Just used the Xbox 360 codes listed up to the last key giving one, haven't done the heads/class mods however all the ones I used did work, even the ones with the expiration dates. So I confirm them working as at 10:46pm October 29th 2013, GMT+12:00.--Lycos Devanos Drop me a line 09:47, October 29, 2013 (UTC)

I did suspect that. Other sources claim no expiration on some of them. Thanks for the input. Final signature 14:32, October 29, 2013 (UTC)

The following keys, available from the @GearboxSoftware Twitter account, supposedly have expiration dates however I was able to use them successfully just now. Psoriac (talk) 07:03, January 13, 2014 (UTC)

Spooky Bugs!?

I had redeemed the spooky skins 2013 code for SHiFT a while ago, and when I finished I had never recieved the skins. Is this a common glitch or is there an unstated expiration date?Epicpoke (talk) 07:13, December 14, 2013 (UTC)

They are just unlocked in your customization menu. If this is what you mean by not receiving them, it is entirely possible that they are expired since they were for a holiday. Noted expired codes will be removed from the list.

Giving input like this is very helpful, thanks. Final signature 08:04, December 14, 2013 (UTC)

B&B Codes

My thanks to everyone maintaining these codes. I just tried all of them on pc and I just wanted to say that none of the B&B codes worked for me though the rest did. I don't know if anyone wants to confirm that or remove them but I just wanted to put it out there.

Septentriones (talk) 18:43, December 14, 2013 (UTC)septentriones

Actually I just started cleaning up and such... The B&B codes were the last ones I entered. The rest will be later today. I will remove the B&B codes, Thanks. Final signature 19:05, December 14, 2013 (UTC)

also i dont know how the hell to do any of this stuff so heres my name and time of post —Preceding unsigned comment added by crossxfire45 (talkcontribs)

You sign forum posts and talk pages with four tildes (~~~~).

The first thing you must do is sign up with SHiFT in order to access them. If that is done, I would try re-booting everything connected to the internet. There is also an authentication check when you enter your extras/shift page that must take place, just like when the game searches for downloadable content in the beginning.

Also, what system are you on? Final signature 22:16, January 17, 2014 (UTC)

1: yes i have already signed up for shift

2: PS3

Crossxfire45 (talk) 18:46, January 19, 2014 (UTC)

Hmm, I do not know the answer... I will contact someone that may be able to help you find them. Final signature 07:09, January 21, 2014 (UTC)

CODE UPDATE

The only code that worked for me was the December one with no exp date as of January 23 2014 4:53 A.M. Arizona time on the xbox 360. The rest said they expired. Stuntmaster007 (talk) 11:55, January 23, 2014 (UTC)

Either the codes have been "redeemed" or a glitch has occurred recently in SHiFT. Independent sources have verified codes working through Jan 16th and again through Jan 21st. Final signature 19:05, January 23, 2014 (UTC)

I've checked all the listed locations, and there haven't been any new codes (excluding the very time-limited ones that Randy Pitchford puts out) released for any system as of 2:35 AM EDT on April 17th, 2014. However, I've only been able to check them all for the PC version of the game; as such, I only updated the "last checked" date for the PC version to April 17th.

If anybody's around right now, here's Randy's latest SHiFT code tweet for 5 golden keys. I suspect they'll only be valid till around 3:30 AM EDT. --Thehellsage (talk) 06:50, April 17, 2014 (UTC)

SHiFT account maximum keys

Until the update of Feb 11, 2014 the maximum number of Golden Keys held by a SHiFT account was 255. After that, Golden Keys would reset back to zero and count up from there. The Feb 11, 2014 update stated that it "Addressed an issue where Golden Keys would reset to zero if the user attempted to redeem more than 255."

Since then there is a mechanism in SHiFT accounts that give a different story than how many keys are shown (a maximum of about 255).

Below is the data collected from different platforms (it should be edited without a signature):

PC: The maximum is shown as 254.

Xbox 360 logo: The maximum is 255. Any codes redeemed while at the maximum will be banked up in the background. Banked up keys will all be deposited at once when there is enough room for them all and the player has restarted their game session, e.g., if you have 8 keys banked up, you will have to bring your total down to 247 for any of them to be deposited.

PS3:

Comments:

I have done some testing myself and found that so far you can reach a total of 255, possibly 260 if you redeem a 10 key code. I also added an explanation as to how the cap works as it has some odd behavior. I have only tested this on Xbox 360. User:SkullFire58

My total (on PC) shows 254. I have not used down to 250 yet but will do, since I have redeemed codes and didn't get anything for them yet. Final signature 06:01, April 17, 2014 (UTC)

Background bank confirmed on PC. I went from the max display of 254 down to 240 and I restarted with 251. I did not keep track of how many Keys were redeemed after hitting max display but obviously it was at least 11. Final signature 07:11, April 19, 2014 (UTC)

Alright, it seems that the absolute maximum, atleast on Xbox, is 255. I redeemed two codes, each giving three keys. I redeemed the first yesterday, and the second today, adding up to 6 keys banked up. I spent my keys until I was back down to 250, saved and quit, and entered the game again. Though this time, it stayed at 250. I spent one more key bringing the total to 249, re-entered the game, and a window popped up telling me I now had 255 keys. So, in conclusion, it seems I may have been wrong about the "magic number" being 250, it just seemed like it because at the time the only codes available were for five keys each, although I wouldn't change the current description up there just yet. Next time there is a code for three keys, I will try redeeming it at 252 keys total. It also appears that banked up keys do stay even if you exit the game entirely, and it will deposit all banked up keys at once when there's enough room. SkullFire58 (talk) 16:12, April 19, 2014 (UTC)

Ok, it seems my original description was completely wrong and much more complicated than it actually is. The maximum on Xbox is simply just 255. I had a total of 252 keys, redeemed a code for three keys, and they all deposited instantly. I have rewritten the Xbox description, and am currently done testing unless there was anything I missed or a new mechanic is discovered. SkullFire58 (talk) 22:14, April 22, 2014 (UTC)

So, I've been banking up keys in the background since early May, and now that it's late July I decided it's time to deposit them. I banked up 99 keys, and today I spent from 255 to 156, and sure enough all 99 keys were deposited, so I will personally assume there is no expiration date for banked up keys. There may actually be an expiration date, or there may not, but now we know they will last around three months for sure. This was tested on Xbox 360. SkullFire58 (talk) 21:13, July 18, 2014 (UTC)

New code available until 15th Sept

I have learned of a new code available until September 15th, an exclusive code given to DLCentral by 2k. The rewards for the code is the Baby Maker SMG, Love Thumper shield and 5 gold keys. I have tested it for Xbox and it works, the code can be found here: [1] --Lycos Devanos Drop me a line 14:32, September 12, 2014 (UTC)

Expired SHiFT Codes

I hate to be that guy, but I think someone should start removing codes that no longer work. It seems to have been a month sence anyone had checked all the codes, and some people might want more keys without having to sift though all of them. Just a suggestion, so there is no need to do it, I just think it would be a good idea.

Thank you for volunteering. ;) -- WarBlade (talk) 20:40, September 27, 2014 (UTC)
Anyone can remove any code that doesn't work on any platform. Please do so, if you find a "expired" code. Thanks Final signature 08:05, September 28, 2014 (UTC)
