Krom might be a fan of Robert E. Howard's Conan stories. Krom is the name of the Cimmerean god - a moody, strong deity who lives on a mountain and who has little to do with his worshippers; he makes them strong when he creates them and doesn't feel it's his concern if they succeed or fail, having done his part. At any rate, it's a cooler thing to name yourself after than Leslie. Atypicaloracle 05:15, January 10, 2010 (UTC)

Strategy Content[]

Some contributors have been piling some fairly esoteric strategy into the Strategy subsection, including notes that get a mention multiple times and are already covered elsewhere. Some strategies are more appropriate to the mission strategy for The Next Piece, especially where matters shift away from Krom to touch on the other bandits in the area. Being able to kill Krom a second time isn't even a tactical choice - It's a valid combat related "Note" (and a curiosity that I have yet to see for myself). -- WarBlade 19:39, January 23, 2010 (UTC)

I managed to get the second kill of Krom on my second playthrough. However, he wasn't at the bottom of the canyon, but rather sitting oddly on the floor near where the turret was. (I'd used a caustic sniper to pick off the turret from near the entrance to the area.) I have pics taken off the TV as I wasn't sure how big of a glitch this was. He kept yelling to his troops after they were all dead and I even finished the mission before hitting him with a single critical caustic shot. Apparently, the games goes off the turret getting destroyed, not Krom himself. --Pyoobez 01:58, June 27, 2010 (UTC)

I did much the same thing on my second playthrough, using a GGN 450C Cobalt Volcano x4 sniper rifle, but Krom was blown clear into the corrugated iron front wall of his turret nest, so that it bisected him lengthwise, half in and half out. I shot him again and he was left hanging in the air outside the wall, still shouting at his troops. Finally, I killed him and he went limp, dangling from the wall (his hand was still stuck in it). 174.6.51.17 09:29, May 26, 2012 (UTC)

cleanup[]

How about I delete all the strategy content and add it to The Next piece, then type "If you wish to see a complete list of strategies, please visit The Next Piece." and link it. Would that work? Auntarie 18:02, July 27, 2011 (UTC)
