Takedown at the Maliwan Blacksite is a free downloadable content release for Borderlands 3. It is the first in a planned series of Takedowns, special endgame missions designed to challenge up to four players at the level cap.[1]

- Originally, Takedown at the Maliwan Blacksite was designed for a full team of four players. From January 16 to January 30, 2020, team scaling was introduced to the Takedown as a limited mini-event, allowing the difficulty to automatically scale to smaller teams.[2] Upon the conclusion of the mini-event, Gearbox decided to make team scaling permanent due to its popularity, and announced that the original difficulty would return in February 2020 as "True Takedown Mode", which could be optionally activated during the mission for an extra challenge.[3]
