Sunshine is a unique nova shield in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel manufactured by Dahl. It is obtained from the mission To the Moon located in Lunar Launching Station.
Special Effect[]
Every time I shut my eyes... – When depleted, fires incendiary laser projectiles in every direction. Provides immunity to incendiary status effects.
Usage & Description[]
Sunshine is effective against melee attackers, particularly unshielded ones, and has much better stats than common nova shields of the same level. Due to it firing lasers instead of a nova, it also gives the Sunshine more effective range than a standard nova shield, allowing it to potentially chip distant enemies. However, the lack of a nova also limits the Sunshine's effectiveness, as the lasers fire from the user's feet instead of forming a body-encompassing explosion around them.
Jack can make use of the Sunshine via You Have My Shield and skills focused on decreasing his Digi-Jack's longevity, turning them into walking laser bombs during combat.
Notes[]
- Kills by the Sunshine's special effect do not advance the Nova Say Die ("Kill enemies with a Nova shield burst") challenge.
Trivia[]
- The name and flavour text are a reference to the 2007 sci-fi movie Sunshine. The text is taken from a quote by Cassie saying: "Good dream? Let me guess... the surface of the Sun? Only dream I ever have. Every time I shut my eyes it's always the same."
- Despite being manufactured by Dahl, Sunshine's model and behavior are similar to Maliwan Nova Shields with a purple-rarity Dahl weapon skin.
