However, its damage output is still formidable in its own right despite the reduced damage, and weaker enemies can be killed outright without the need to swap.
Because of its high projectile per second count and decent [[Rate of Fire]], this weapon is a very versatile one. It can be used as a slag and swap weapon, only requiring a very small amount of time to slag an enemy. This is particularly valuable to [[Gunzerker]]s who can utilize its massive magazine while dual wielding to maintain DPS while still slagging to support the weapon in their other hand. This weapon's multiple projectile per shot also leaves it as a very ammo efficient weapon to use without swapping. You can use this weapon to support AOE attacks such as [[Bonus Package]] or [[Storm Front]], tossing out grenades and slagging as many enemies as possible in their effective area. If you're lucky enough to have one drop with a blade accessory, the damage output can be lethal on a melee build character. With [[Close Enough]] from [[Gaige]]'s Best Friends Forever skill tree, Slagga's low accuracy and high rate of fire become a valuable asset, as the bullets are likely to ricochet into the targets from multiple angles.

Due to the increased power of slag in [[Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode]], the Slagga is arguably one of the most useful weapons due to the already high elemental effect chance and the high projectile count.

Revision as of 09:18, 2 February 2020

Slagga is a legendary submachine gun in Borderlands 2 manufactured by bandits.
It is obtained randomly from any suitable loot source, but has an increased chance to drop from Tector & Jimbo Hodunk located in The Dust , and from the Sorcerer's Daughter located in the Lair of Infinite Agony.

Special Weapon Effects

blagaga – Always slag. Fires 3 rounds at the cost of one with reduced damage. Extremely high elemental effect chance and cannot damage slag elemental enemies.

Usage & Description

The Slagga is a versatile and effective weapon, with moderate accuracy, but able to unleash a high number of projectiles. With its high Slag chance and huge magazine size, the Slagga is a useful "slag-n-swap" weapon, and allows this process to be repeated several times before reloading. However, its damage output is still formidable in its own right despite the reduced damage, and weaker enemies can be killed outright without the need to swap.

Due to the increased power of slag in Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode, the Slagga is arguably one of the most useful weapons due to the already high elemental effect chance and the high projectile count.

Notes

  • Gaige can make great use of this gun with her Close Enough skill, as any shots that miss may ricochet to a target, which can effectively improve the odds of Slagging one or multiple targets.
  • Jimbo & Tector Hodunk, the enemy most likely to drop the Slagga, can be fought by siding with the Zafords at the end of the Clan Wars mission arc. Once sided with the Zafords, players will be unable to fight Mick Zaford, the enemy most likely to drop the legendary Jakobs revolver, Maggie.
  • A hotfix on 11/05/13 increased the magazine size and damage of the Slagga and all other bandit submachine guns as part of the Borderlands 2 $100,000 Loot Hunt.
