Special Weapon Effects

Makes your brain hurt. – Shoots five projectiles at the cost of one round, however, each projectile suffers from decreased damage.

Usage & Description

Another legendary weapon returning from Borderlands, the Skullmasher is largely unchanged. In Borderlands 2, it features a faster rate of fire, fires a cluster of five bullets instead of the original's six, with a greater spread.

Like its predecessor, each shot only costs one round of ammunition, and if all five bullets connect the Skullmasher is capable of much higher raw damage output than most of its peers. It tends to have very low accuracy for a sniper rifle, however, and is best used at mid-range against large enemies such as The Warrior, or flying enemies.

Notes

  • Since this fires five pellets instead of one bullet, it can achieve multiple critical hits in one shot. This is useful for rapidly obtaining the Longshot Headshot challenge or stacking Critical Ascensi0n.
