Scoville is a legendary pistol in Borderlands 3 manufactured by Torgue. It is obtained by completing the Torgue's Marketing Mistake challenge.

Special Weapon Effects

Put a little pepper on the end of it. – Always incendiary or non-elemental. Fires hot sauce bottles that fly in a parabolic arc. Greatly increased damage, fire rate, and splash radius. Consumes 2 ammo per shot. No alternative firing mode.

Usage & Description

The Scoville can be powerful in the right hands, as the hot sauce bottles detonate in a large blast radius that deal large amounts of damage. This comes at the lack of an alternative fire mode, limited projectile range and being restricted to incendiary or no element. The large splash radius also makes it easy to deal self-inflicted damage at close range. Essentially, it can be used as a pseudo rocket launcher, with the added bonus of a larger pistol ammo pool.

The Scoville is best on Moze, as it synergises with her Demolition Woman tree due to the weapon always dealing splash damage.

Notes

  • As the Scoville is a quest-only reward, farming it is only possible by creating a back-up of the save file before the quest is turned in or by starting the DLC with a new character save file.
  • Hotfix 12/17/2020: Reduced ammo consumption from 4 to 2.

Trivia

  • The name and projectile are a reference to the Scoville scale used to measure the spiciness of chili peppers, in keeping with the fact this weapon is obtained by destroying hot sauce bottles.
