Sand Hawk is a legendary sniper rifle in Borderlands 3 manufactured by Dahl. It can only be obtained from Katagawa Jr. at Mayhem 6 and above.
Special Weapon Effects[]
Wedge a pig. – Increased accuracy. Consumes 3 ammo per shot. Fires a burst of 7 projectiles in the shape of a bird, with wings that slowly open up as it travels.
Usage & Description[]
The Sand Hawk's projectile at maximum distance.
While it may be quite ammo intensive, the Sand Hawk's damage exceeds even that of the Skullmasher or Krakatoa. The projectile takes some time to unfold its "wings", making it easier for the burst to hit at close range, while increasing its hitbox size at long range. This spread can be mitigated by using the Sand hawk in its semi-auto firing mode as the projectiles start their travel with a tighter spread.
However, as the projectiles have a slow flight speed and will only travel a set distance before disappearing, the Sand Hawk is poor choice for long-range encounters and should only be used for close and medium-range fights instead.
Notes[]
- The June 11, 2020, patch increased the Sand Hawk's ammo consumption from 2 ammo per shot to 3 ammo per shot and reduced the projectile count from 9 to 7.

- The Sand Hawk is a returning weapon from Borderlands 2 but as a legendary sniper rifle instead of a unique SMG.
- The Sand Hawk uses the "Black Dragon" weapon skin as its default skin.
