SMG is the title of a group of common submachine guns in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. They are manufactured exclusively by scavs and commonly spawn with the Tediore, scavs and also Maliwan barrels.
Usage & Description
These weapons can spawn with either of three barrels which gives them different properties:
- Tediore – This barrel gives the gun increased reload speed and accuracy at the cost of weapon base damage.
- Scavs – A SMG with this type of barrel is less accurate than the other two but is the most powerful amongst all other common scav submachine guns, not only this model type. This type of gun is well suited for any character depending on how they boost it with their skill trees.
- Maliwan – By using the Maliwan barrel, this weapon gains more accuracy and increased elemental effect chance. Interestingly, the second perk that this barrel offers is technically never available to this weapon because any SMG with a Maliwan barrel has a separate gun title depending on the element (see variants below). If it comes without an element, it is still called SMG.
Variants
- Chilly - Common submachine gun. This is the title of the SMG when it comes with a cryo Maliwan barrel.
- Shokking - Common submachine gun. This is the title of the SMG when it comes with a shock Maliwan barrel.
- Spicy - Common submachine gun. This is the title of the SMG when it comes with an incendiary Maliwan barrel.
- Tangy - Common submachine gun. This is the title of the SMG when it comes with a corrosive Maliwan barrel.
