Rebel Yell is a legendary assault rifle in Borderlands 3 manufactured by Atlas. It is obtained randomly from any suitable loot source, but has an increased chance to drop from Sky Bullies located in The Anvil on Eden-6.

Special Weapon Effects[]

When you charge, yell like Furies. – Always spawns with tracking darts. Tracking darts deal shock damage. Increased fire rate and projectile speed. Reduced projectile damage and magazine size.

Usage & Description[]

The Rebel Yell handles much more like a conventional assault rifle in that it has a higher fire rate, lower recoil, and faster projectile speed than other Atlas rifles. It is also one of the few Atlas guns with innate elemental capabilities, albeit only with its tracking darts.

Overall, the Rebel Yell is rather underwhelming outside of its gimmick of shock tracking darts, as its high fire rate causes frequent reloads while its lowered damage makes it deal less damage than most assault rifles. Standard world drop Atlas assault rifles can typically outperform it damage wise, especially the Q-System.

Though niche, the shock tracking darts can be put to good use with FL4K and Moze, as they have skills that allow them to replenish its reserve on crit.

Notes[]

  • The Rebel Yell only spawns with tracker darts as the Alternative Fire mode.
  • The Rebel Yell fires blue tracker darts instead of the standard red. Tracker bullets still have a red trail.
  • Despite its item card listing it possessing a shock elemental capacitor, this only applies to the Rebel Yell's Darts. This is similar to Vladof pistols, which may spawn as non-elemental but earn an element on its title card due to its taser Alternative Fire mode.
  • Despite being a legendary variant of the N-System Assault Rifle, it is never able to legitimately spawn with a barrel shroud. But it can be given one through the use of third-party programs.

Trivia[]

  • The red text is part of a quote uttered by General T. J. "Stonewall" Jackson during the American Civil War instructing his troops to yell. This yell became known as the Rebel Yell and was used by Confederate soldiers when charging into battle. "Reserve your fire until they come within 50 yards! Then fire and give them the bayonet! And when you charge, yell like furies!"
