Ratatater is the title of a group of common assault rifles in Borderlands 3 manufactured by COV.

Usage & Description

Firing a Ratatater

The Ratatater features Gatling-style rotating barrels, similar to the Bezoomy assault rifle family. Like most COV weapons, the Ratatater features mediocre accuracy, but makes up for this through sheer volume of fire. The Ratatater's rate of fire is helped significantly by the COV's "bottomless" magazines, significantly increasing the amount of time that can be spent firing.

Due to its often subpar accuracy and high fire rate, the Ratatater fills a similar role to some Bezoomy rifles; it's best utilized up close to the enemy, being fired in long, sustained bursts. It's wise to take care when using this weapon, as a lack of controlled fire will deplete ammo stores very quickly, especially when using a Ratatater with the "Moar" prefix.

This weapon benefits most from skills and class mods that increase fire rate, such as Moze's Scorching RPM's, or Zane's Violent Violence. In addition, the "bottomless" magazines of COV weapons also benefit from skills and gear that decrease heat generated per shot, allowing the Ratatater to put out an alarming amount of sustained, rapid fire.
