The Rapier is a Cursed Assault Rifle manufactured by Vladof.

Special Weapon Effects

  • As I end the refrain, thrust home.  – +200% Melee Damage.
  • Curse of the Porcelain Fist!  – The user takes increased damage from Melee attacks.

Drop Guide

It is the reward from the Message In A Bottle mission in Hayter's Folly.

Usage

The melee bonus it provides is the highest in the game and as such, it is best used by Zer0. Zer0 has Resurgence in his Bloodshed skill tree, which could negate the increased damage received. Beyond that, his Decepti0n along with Many Must Fall allows him to use this gun to its full effect without any of its negative traits effecting him. When he leaves Decepti0n - just switch weapons.

Notes

  • While every Rapier has what appears to be a bayonet accessory, this bayonet does not give the weapon the Skewering prefix, nor does it prevent other accessories such as Ferocious from spawning with the weapon.

Trivia

  • The quote is from the play Cyrano de Bergerac, where the title character is mocking his opponent in a duel by composing that poem at the same time.
