Racer

Racer

Racers are vehicles introduced in the new DLC, The Secret Armory of General Knoxx. They are similar to the Salt Racer, a Vehicle that was scrapped before Borderlands' release, in many aspects.[citation needed]

The Racer is equipped with an increased boost and higher top speed, as well as a weaker frontal machine gun and less armor. It is identical in appearance to the Outrunner, save for a rear spoiler, a large jet nozzle for the improved booster, and a high-mounted exhaust. Due to the increased speed, it is prone to tipping over even without boosting. The racer takes damage quickly in combat so is less effective in combat than any other vehicle, save for dodging and escape. It is possible to circle an enemy faster than they can track, giving the racer an advantage in large open areas, although these are relatively rare.
