Racer

Racers are vehicles introduced in the DLC The Secret Armory of General Knoxx. They are similar to the Salt Racer, a vehicle that was scrapped before Borderlands' release, in many aspects. There is an achievement, Speed Kills, for destroying a Lancer while in a Racer.

The Racer is equipped with an increased boost and higher top speed, as well as a weaker frontal machine gun and less armor. It is identical in appearance to the Outrunner, save for a rear spoiler and a large rocket engine for the booster. Due to the increased speed, it is prone to tipping over even without boosting.

Notes

• The rear spoiler has the Mad Moxxi's Underdome logo on it.
• The Racer was Mad Moxxi's idea.

Trivia

• The yellow paint scheme, "Greasy Lighting", is likely a reference to the song "Greased Lightning" from the movie "Grease".
