Racers are vehicles introduced in the DLC The Secret Armory of General Knoxx. They are similar to the Salt Racer, a vehicle that was scrapped before Borderlands' release, in many aspects. There is an achievement, Speed Kills, for destroying a Lancer while in a Racer.
The Racer is equipped with an increased boost and higher top speed, as well as a weaker frontal machine gun and less armor. It is identical in appearance to the Outrunner, save for a large rocket in the back. While boosting it is very easy to flip off of the Crimson Tollways, due to a steep drop in steering control and massive increase in speed.
The Racer is prone to tipping over even if it is not using its boost
