Pumpkinhead is a legendary creature in Jakobs Cove. Patricia Tannis wants you to prove it is real by killing it.

Background

Walkthrough

Objective

Find and kill the mythical Pumpkinhead
  • Jack-o-lantern 1 lit: 0/1
  • Jack-o-lantern 2 lit: 0/1
  • Corpse found: 0/1
" Patricia Tannis here. There have always been legends of a mysterious and elusive creature out at Jakobs Cove. Some people call him Pumpkinhead. Pretty spooky, huh? I just call him Bob. As a scientist with a bit of a crackpot reputation, this story captivates me. I would love a first-had account of the creature. Of course, the best way to prove something like this exists - which will then vindicate a so-called 'obsession with such a frivolous pursuit' - is a body. So while a really blurry picture or an ECHO with some unidentifiable sounds on it would be nice, a corpse would be better. It's said to roam the swamps but only comes out when people carve creepy faces into pumpkins and put candles in them. Doesn't make sense to me, but I never was any good at cooking."

Strategy

1. Head to the way point on your map and you will eventually come to the Pumpkin Patch. There are 2 jack-o-lanterns set on pedestals that you must light.
2. Light the jack-o-lanterns and Pumpkinhead will come out of his cave.
3. Pumpkinhead can be a tough fight if you aren't prepared for his attacks and defenses. And he can go down pretty quickly if you know his weakness.:* He is immune to corrosive damage.
  • He has a charge attack, which can stun you and knock you back.
  • He has a fire breath attack. You can see him stop and prepare to breath allowing you time to move out of the way.
  • He has a big soft pumpkin head which is a prime target for critical hits.

Avoid his attacks and unload into his head. Critical hits can stun him allowing you to keep shooting. A fast fire rate and reload speed and you will have no problem.

Completion

"You left the body to rot in the swamp?! What good will that do me? Amateurs..."

Additional Information

Notes

Once you kill Pumpkinhead his head falls off, this may be a reference to the book(or movie)The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, where the Headless Horseman throws his head at Ichabod Crane, although Pumpkinhead doesn't throw his head at you, when you shoot him in the head it may leak fire.
