Proton Rifle is the title of a group of common sniper rifles in Borderlands 3 manufactured by Maliwan. The Proton Rifle is obtained randomly from any suitable loot source.
Usage & Description[]
Proton Rifle has lower elemental damage but higher elemental chance than other variants. It can be fired by simply pressing the trigger, or charged up to have higher damage, projectile speed and splash radius (up to 2x).
Proton Rifle has a base splash radius of 80.
Notable Variants[]
- Binary Operator - Legendary non-elemental sniper rifle that has minimal damage (1-2). Has a hidden damage value, which will instantly kill the enemy if its health is below it. Needs to fully-charged to fire.
Notes[]
- Status effect damage is only increased by charging or Overkill if the enemy is directly hit by the projectile. Enemies hit only by splash damage and not the projectile itself will only suffer the weapon's base status effect damage.
