Projectile Recursion is a legendary shotgun in Borderlands 3 manufactured by Maliwan. It is obtained randomly from any suitable loot source.

Special Weapon Effects

See green text for description.
See red text for description. – Increased elemental damage. Fires a highly accurate beam that will bounce to multiple targets.

Usage & Description

The Projectile Recursion deals high elemental damage with extreme precision, functioning more like a sniper rifle than a shotgun. The particle beam fired by the weapon will attempt to seek out secondary targets upon hitting an enemy, and it can chain to multiple enemies in a single shot. Its main drawback is its high ammo consumption.

Notes

  • The Projectile Recursion must charge between each shot, making its actual fire rate much lower than listed.
    • Class Mods and other effects that lower weapon charge time will help to achieve its true fire rate.

Trivia

  • The Projectile Recursion's two flavor texts form a circular reference, which is a type of recursion.
