Projectile Convergence is the title of a group of common submachine guns in Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. They are manufactured exclusively by Hyperion and commonly spawns with the Tediore, bandit/scavs and also Maliwan barrels.

Usage & Description

Hyperion submachine guns are highly accurate but they have the feature of "reverse recoil": the longer the accuracy increases the longer the trigger is held. The listed accuracy on the weapon is what is achievable after the sustained fire increases their accuracy to maximum.

The Projectile Convergence can come with a variety of barrels, each one can give the gun different properties:

  • Tediore barrel (lite) – Increases reload speed and accuracy, but decreases damage.
  • Bandit/scav barrel ("heavy") – Increases the weapon damage but decreases accuracy;
  • Maliwan barrel (stock) – Increases weapon accuracy. Due to a glitch in the weapon generation system, this variants can spawn only without elemental capacitor.

Notable Variants

Borderlands 2

  • Gearbox Projectile Convergence – Unique (but common-quality) variant that is available exclusively as a part of the Premiere Club pre-order bonus package.
  • CommerceUnique shock SMG that visually resembles Projectile Convergence with Tediore barrel; its unique barrel confers high rate of fire and fast stabilization.

Notes

  • The variants of this submachine gun in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel can spawn with Hyperion's new-style or old-style sets of materials and prefixes.
    • Old-style Projectile Convergence have higher damage output at the cost of significantly lower accuracy and fire rate. They also have a limited version of Hyperion's "reverse recoil" when aimed down the sights only.
  • The Projectile Convergence is obtained randomly from any suitable loot source.
