Pain is Power (assault rifle)

Pain is Power is a legendary assault rifle in Borderlands 3 manufactured by COV. It is obtained randomly from any suitable loot source, but has an increased chance to drop from Hot Karl located in Devil's Razor on Pandora.

Special Weapon Effects

Nobody kills me but ME! – Always incendiary. Does not break or consume ammo when overheated. Deals incendiary damage to the user when overheated.

Description & Usage

Pain is Power is useful on characters that utilize certain skills upon receiving damage, or when their shield breaks. This weapon can be used to achieve that manually, rather than taking damage from enemies and potentially being crippled in the process.

Notes

The weapon's self-inflicted damage can sometimes bypass the shield and directly damage health. Using the weapon with the Deathless artifact can cause the character to be immediately crippled.

Trivia

The weapon's name and flavor text reference Krieg the Psycho from Borderlands 2. Pain is Power is a skill in Krieg's Hellborn tree. The flavor text is a quote from Krieg when he is crippled.
