Mortar is a "mini-boss" fought during the story quest Toil and Trouble. Killing him while on the quest is optional.

Mortar has a rare chance to drop a Legendary grenade mod called Pandemic.

  • Mortar's most prized possession is a custom Buzzard, which he calls the Boombringer. He is never seen flying it in game, but Boombringer is destroyed in order to anger Mortar and trick him into taking an elevator down to fight the Vault Hunter.
