Moonfire is a legendary pistol in Borderlands 3 manufactured by Torgue. It is obtained randomly from any suitable loot source, but has an increased chance to drop from Wotan the Invincible.
Special Weapon Effects[]
Meet your destiny. – Every third shot deals 3x damage. Critical hit damage is doubled, and projectile speed is massively increased. No splash damage or sticky alternate firing mode.
Usage & Description[]
Due to the high projectile speed, lack of splash damage, and lack of a sticky alternate firing mode, the Moonfire handles more closely to a slow-firing Jakobs pistol than a Torgue. The near-hitscan projectiles make landing critical hits particularly easy, and critical hits that deal the Moonfire's bonus damage can be particularly devastating.
Notes[]
- Hotfix 4/2/2020: Damage increased. Critical hit damage increased.
- Reloading the Moonfire does not reset the counter on bonus damage shots. Firing two regular shots and then reloading causes the first shot fired to deal 3x damage.

- The flavor text is a reference to the "Hawkmoon" hand cannons in the 2014 video game Destiny.
