The Monocle is a powerful critical hit weapon, but should only be used as a long-range weapon as its increased zoom can make it difficult to use in close-range combat and the reduced base damage makes it less effective with non-critical hits.

The Monocle is designed to be used as a long range precision weapon, as its extremely high zoom makes it difficult to use otherwise. Its zoomed-in critical boost makes it excellent for this purpose, although non-critical hits are penalized by its low damage. It also cannot be used for hip-firing as it does not gain a crit boost while unscoped.

*[[FL4K]] can make good use of this weapon for bursts of high damage with the [[Fade Away]] skill. Since every shot fired while it is active is a guaranteed critical hit, along with the Jakobs perk of a ricochet from a critical hit, this weapon can achieve massive single-shot damage in tight crowds of enemies.

*[[FL4K]]'s [[Fade Away]] synergises worse with this weapon than what might be expected: Although "Critical!" pops up on any Fade Away hit, the damage bonus of the weapon is only applied when striking the actual critical spot.

**The double critical only works if the critical hit location was hit. Skill-triggered bodyshot critical hits from FL4K's skills will only receive the initial 500% bonus.

**Provided that the gameplay mechanics do not penalize critical hit damage, normal damage and/or sniper rifle damage - it possible to deal over 100,000 damage in a single shot, potentially killing badass enemies with one shot on Mayhem 3 mode.-->

Monocle is a legendary sniper rifle in Borderlands 3 manufactured by Jakobs. It is obtained randomly from any suitable loot source, but has an increased chance to drop from Demoskaggon located in The Droughts on Pandora.

Special Weapon Effects

One is enough. – ×3.5 critical damage when aiming down sights (no bonus when hip firing). Extremely high weapon zoom. Increased weapon accuracy, handling, and reload speed. Reduced base damage.

Usage & Description

The Monocle is designed to be used as a long range precision weapon, as its extremely high zoom makes it difficult to use otherwise. Its zoomed-in critical boost makes it excellent for this purpose, although non-critical hits are penalized by its low damage. It also cannot be used for hip-firing as it does not gain a crit boost while unscoped.

Notes

  • FL4K's Fade Away synergises worse with this weapon than what might be expected: Although "Critical!" pops up on any Fade Away hit, the damage bonus of the weapon is only applied when striking the actual critical spot.
