Mick Zaford is the leader of the Zaford clan. The Zafords are a Pandoran mirror of Irish people, as shown through their main base of operations (which is a pub called The Holy Spirits), thick accents, attire, and their shamrock emblem. Mick himself distinguishes himself from the other Zafords with his green bowler hat.
As the leader of the Zafords, Mick holds an antagonistic disposition towards the Hodunks, the Zafords' rival clan. When the Hodunks commission the Vault Hunters to crash Lucky Zaford's memorial service, it is revealed that Lucky is Mick's son.

In playthrough 2.5 especially, Mick can be a fearsome opponent. He can make himself nearly invisible and does a horrifying amount of damage with his SMG, and while his Zaford Grunt minions can provide a Second Wind, they tend to flee for cover quickly. When fighting the Zafords it is best to eliminate Mick as soon as possible, and not allow his shield to recharge. Using Law and Order can be quite effective, as Mick's melee is slow and not too strong.
