Mantas are creatures encountered in Borderlands 3. They are native to Nekrotafeyo.

Strategy
Mantas are medium sized bipedals with large tails and front limbs formed into blades. When they spot a target, they start closing in while launching toxic globs. Once within melee distance, they viciously slash and stab their victims. Sometimes they move short distance away to launch more toxic globs or burry themselves into the ground. They are easy to spot as they are closing in but can not be damaged while moving under the ground. They resurface right in front of Vault Hunters and start to slash and stab. Just before Mantas resurface, Vault Hunters can either make few steps back or even jump over them. This gives enough time for a few well-placed shots from a shotgun. Mantas are very vulnerable to incendiary damage.
Notes
- In Mayhem Mode and True Vault Hunter Mode, they are renamed Vicious Manta.
- In the Takedown at the Guardian Breach they receive a Invading prefix.
