Longnail is a legendary sniper rifle in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel manufactured by Vladof. It is obtained randomly from any suitable loot source but has an increased chance to drop from The Invincible Empyrean Sentinel in Eleseer.
Special Weapon Effects
Nailed it! – All parts, except for elemental capacitor, are fixed. Shots bypass shields, inflicting damage directly to health. Decreased damage and reload speed, increased fire rate and capacity.
Usage & Description
The Longnail is a very useful weapon against enemies with strong shields and weak health, but due to its modest damage it is less effective against enemies with higher health. While the Longnail's bullets pass through shields unimpeded, any elemental status effect does not.
One deficiency of the Longnail is its high rate of ammo consumption. While the gun only uses one ammo per shot, its high fire rate and large magazine size depletes sniper rifle ammo at a high rate. Class mods, character skills or Moxx-tails that regenerate ammo are extremely useful in mitigating this issue.
The Longnail is very good in the hands of Aurelia, due to her multiple skills improving critical hit and sniper rifle damage, and the skill Custom Loads can imbue non-elemental Longnails with an element, and add additional elements to elemental Longnails.
- The Longnail's ability to bypass shields does not work on the three shielded phases of the fight against The Sentinel and inflicts no damage at all. However, the Longnail will inflict damage on the final shield-free phase, and its shield bypassing ability will work against The Empyrean Sentinel.
- Due to the Longnail's fixed parts and accessories, the gun will always spawn with the 'Bolshy' prefix.
