- For a pistol with a similar name, see The Leech.
Leech is a legendary transfusion grenade manufactured by Maliwan.
It is obtained randomly from any suitable loot source, but has an increased chance to drop from The Warrior located in Vault of the Warrior and the Handsome Sorcerer located in Dragon Keep. In Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, it is obtained randomly from any suitable loot source.
Special Effects[]
A skilful leech is better far, than half a hundred men of war. – Decreased damage and blast radius. Transfusion heal occurs as soon as the grenade deals damage.
Usage & Description[]
The Leech is a tactical/support grenade mod with greatly reduced damage and blast radius, and as such it's not suited for players looking for a destructive grenade. While common transfusion grenades, after doing damage, release healing trails that search for allies and heal them, the Leech instantly converts any damage done to health. This nullifies one of the main problems of transfusion grenades: Healing trails disappearing after a distance without healing the characters, or being stuck between obstacles.
As such, the Leech greatly enhances survivability, giving the character the chance to quickly recover health from cover while in combat, or used from long distances unavailable to common transfusion grenades.
Trivia[]
- The flavor text is a quote from the poem Hudibras by Samuel Butler, which in turn is an allusion to Homer's Iliad. In both cases, "leech" refers to a physician, which suits the item's healing properties.
