King's Gambit is a legendary pistol in Borderlands 4 manufactured by Jakobs. It is obtained randomly from any suitable loot source, but has an increased chance to drop from Vile Prototype located in Lictor's Black Site - Windspear, Terminus Range on Kairos.

- How the weapon operates:
- When reload: gun is thrown and propelled forward in a straight line at a speed slower than typical Tediore's Javelin module.
- Thrown gun: projects a Sphere around itself with a crown and a sign on top that says "KING ME".
- When this Sphere is shot at: it will ricochets any friendly projectiles that hit it to nearby eligible enemies (in range, not behind cover, etc).
King's Gambit ricochet effect
- The Sphere (ricochet property) of the weapon:
- Splits one projectile into multiple ones where they will auto-aim at the center mass of nearest enemies.
- Works best with high damage weapons such as Shotgun.
- Converts any projectiles that travel-in-an-arc or slow-moving into hitscan shots, but will remove those projectiles' special effect and elemental properties.
- Has a lifetime of around 7 seconds.
- Is bounceable upon contact with enemies and surfaces – dealing damage to the former with roughly ~80% of the gun's damage.
- Other than aforementioned special effects, the weapon functions just like any normal Jakobs pistol would.

Usage tips[]
Because of how the Sphere automatically aim at the center mass of all enemies, throwing the gun slightly above the enemies' head will give a higher chance to hit most enemies' weakspot when shooting at the Sphere.
