Jericho is a legendary rocket launcher in Borderlands 3 manufactured by Vladof. it is obtained randomly from any suitable loot source, but has an increased chance to drop from Crushjaw located in Cathedral of the Twin Gods on Pandora.

Special Weapon Effects[]

I prefer the weapon you only need to fire once.

  • Always non-elemental or radiation.
  • Increased splash radius (base radius: 300). +30% elemental chance. -30% weapon damage.
  • Shots fired will rise into the air for roughly a second before detonating, releasing 3 smaller projectiles that rain down before exploding.
  • Alternate fire launches arcing mortar shells within a line (from left to right), which each detonate into one primary fire projectile, each of which then rises into the air and detonates into 3 of the smaller projectiles, which then blanket the ground again in 12-total smaller explosions.
  • Both firing modes consume 2 ammo per shot.
  • Fixed 6-round magazine with fixed magazine size of 8.

Usage & Description[]

The Jericho is best used in large, open areas where the battlefield can be saturated with fire from above. The effect does not trigger if the rocket detonates early, such as if it hits a roof. It is also effective in point-blank range, which needs you to aim below.

In Mortar Mode, the Jericho will always fire in a fan pattern that starts from the left of the crosshair and goes to the right of it. The mortars can be concentrated on a single area by aiming to the right of the target and moving the crosshair to the left as the mortars are fired.

Notes[]

  • Whether intentional or due to a bug, this weapon is capable of damaging teammates in cooperative mode (as of 1.03 and earlier). Although the primary projectile's explosion doesn't damage teammates, the three small projectiles produce explosions that do. Because of this, it should be used with care (or not at all) in multiplayer games.
    • The friendly fire effect is also capable of injuring NPCs on Sanctuary III.
  • The Jericho can be extremely effective when used alongside a Last Stand Artifact. Once the artifact's invincibility is triggered, the character can fire at their feet with the weapon set to mortar mode to eliminate enemies.

Trivia[]

  • The name and flavor text are a reference to the opening scene of the 2008 film Iron Man, in which Tony Stark unveils a line of "Jericho" missiles which unleash cluster bombs, and says "I prefer the weapon you only have to fire once".
