Jack, formerly known as Timothy Lawrence, is a look-alike body double of Handsome Jack. He is the fifth playable class in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, first revealed at PAX Prime 2014. Jack was added as post-release downloadable content released on November 11, 2014 for $9.99 USD/$14.40 AUS. His skill summons two Digi-Jacks to fight for him.

Background

According to ECHO logs in Jack's Office and as part of Doppelganger's ECHO logs granted as a personal item at the start of the game, Jack used to go by the name Timothy Lawrence until he was elected to undergo the major reconstructive surgery performed by Dr. Autohn. Timothy's reason for undergoing the surgery is to pay off his student loans.

Involvement

Jack is called in as part of the Vault Hunter group that assists the real Jack on Helios.

Jack's action skill, "Expendable Assets", summons Digi-Jacks to fight for him, who are continuously resurrected for its duration. His Hero of this Story and Greater Good trees primarily focus on improving the general combat ability of Jack and his clones, while his Free Enterprise tree focuses on gimmicks ranging from weapon-swapping effects to manufacturer loyalty effects.

Base duration for the skill is 40 seconds, and base cooldown is 40 seconds.

• "Jack" suffers from acrophobia, better known as an abnormal fear of heights.
• Jack is legally forbidden to mention his real name after his surgical change, as when asked by Roland, he only says it rhymes with "Jimothy".
• Jack's Skill "Inspire" is Considered by many to be one of the most useless Skills in any of the Borderlands Games, as it offers no stat bonuses, Combat Bonuses, or Added Effects of any kind other than Having Jack say something Inspirational and having a Rainbow "Inspired" logo go across the bottom of the screen.
