Iron is the title of a group of common pistols in Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. They are manufactured exclusively by Jakobs and feature the Jakobs barrel.

Usage & Description

Irons feature good damage and accuracy though with the high recoil standard to all Jakobs weapons. While the fire rate cap of an Iron is lower than other Jakobs revolvers, this does not affect the weapon's utility.

Notable Variants

Borderlands 2

Greed - Unique incendiary revolver without a movement speed penalty for aiming down the sights.
Rex - Unique Sir Hammerlock revolver with increased damage, range and critical hit bonus. Reduced Fire rate.
Maggie - Legendary revolver that fires 6 projectiles per shot.
Unforgiven - Pearlescent revolver with increased damage and a possible +100% critical hit bonus. Reduced fire rate.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel

Ornery Iron – Unique (but common-quality) variant of this weapon as Nisha's starting weapon.
Cyber Eagle - Unique shock revolver that fires bolts of electricity. Increased accuracy.
Smasher - Unique revolver that fires 7 projectiles in a horizontal spread.
Luck Cannon - Legendary revolver with a fixed capacity of 1 and has a chance to deal explosive damage.
Maggie - Legendary revolver that fires 6 projectiles per shot.

Notes

The Iron only comes in green or higher rarity.
The Iron is obtained randomly from any suitable loot source.

-Irons are thoroughbred Jakobs pistols. They have very high damage and accuracy, although the fire rate is capped more severely. This is only noticeable, however, when one is using a macro or a modded controller or has a very fast trigger finger. They make fine sidearms and are suitable for virtually all situations. One must remember that it is a very accurate weapon so it is not particularly useful at close quarters.
