Iron is the title of a group of pistols in Borderlands 2 manufactured exclusively by Jakobs with their signature long barrel.

Usage & Description

Irons are thoroughbred Jakobs pistols. They have very high damage and accuracy, although the fire rate is capped more severely. This is only noticable, however, when one is using a macro or a modded controller or has a very fast trigger finger. They make fine sidearms and are suitable for virtually all situations. One must remember that it is a very accurate weapon so it is not particularly useful at close quarters.

Notes

• As with all pistols that use the Jakobs barrel, the Iron is only available at uncommon or higher rarities.

Variants

• Greed - Unique revolver with incendiary damage that does not carry any movement penalty for aiming down the sights, as well as being the only elemental Jakobs pistol in the game.
• Rex - Unique Sir Hammerlock series pistol with increased range and buffed critical hit bonuses as well as base damage.
• Maggie - Legendary revolver with a powerful damage bonus that fires a single projectile which splits into six smaller bullets.
• Unforgiven - Pearlescent revolver with an extremely high damage cap as well as a possible +100% critical hit bonus, as the cost of an unusually low fire rate.
