Infernal Wish is a legendary shield in Borderlands 3 manufactured by Anshin and is exclusive to the Director's Cut DLC. It is obtained randomly from any suitable loot source but has an increased chance to appear in Arm's Race.
Special Effects[]
It's there always, this dark passenger. – Adds 1 projectile per shot when shield is not depleted. Firing a weapon can cause Self-Combustion which increases with each Infernal Stack. Resets on second wind.
Usage & Description[]
Notes[]
- The Infernal Wish was released alongside the Director's Cut DLC.
- The Infernal Wish doesn't actually set you on fire. Because fire damage doesn't normally stack, the devs programmed a "fake fire" that you get instead. This is identical to normal fire in most ways, besides being able to stack). However, it is different in that it can't trigger the Elemental Projector relic.
- The Infernal Wish can activate Amara's Conflux skill, which can result in an infernal fire stack causing you to simultaneously be electrocuted or melted occasionally. This can cause you to stack additional damage over time effects which can tear away your shield very quickly especially if electrocuted.
Trivia[]
- The flavor text is a reference to television series Dexter and is from a monolgue in the episode An Inconvenient Lie:
"I just know there's something dark in me. I hide it. I certainly don't talk about it. But it's there. Always. This ‘Dark Passenger.’ And when he's driving, I feel...alive. Half sick with the thrill of complete wrongness. I don't fight him. I don't want to. He's all I've got. Nothing else could love me, not even... especially not me. Or is that just a lie the Dark Passenger tells me? Because lately, there are these moments when I feel connected to something else... someone. It's like the mask is slipping and things... people... who never mattered before, are suddenly starting to matter. It scares the hell out of me."
