Harpoon is the Title of a group of Rocket Launchers with increased accuracy and rocket velocity. They come only in single shot variants.

Examples are on the talk page.

Usage and Description[]

Harpoons are designed with long range combat in mind. Their high accuracy will make sure the rockets go in the right direction, while the increased rocket velocity will guarantee they reach their target in a timely fashion. The Evil variant is particularly interesting, as it further increases the bullet velocity by 100%, making it nearly as fast as a normal bullet.

Harpoons are restricted to a single shot in their magazine, giving the weapon a prohibitively low effective rate of fire, and making it near useless in actual combat (compared to other Rocket Launchers/Weapons).

On the other hand, Brick, with a few points in Wide Load, can turn this 1 shot weapon into a 6+ shot weapon, turning it into an exceptionally lethal weapon.

Notes[]

  • Harpoons are actually rare weapons, as the damage boost from being 1-shot tends to promote them to the higher priority Destructor.
    • Consequentially, Harpoons can't have exceptional damage, nor can they have the RWL body.

Trivia[]

  • Traditionally, a Harpoon is a long spear-like instrument used in fishing to catch fish or large marine mammals such as whales
  • The name could be a reference to the real-world Harpoon Missile.

Mechanics[]

The Harpoon effect comes from the title Title_Accuracy1_Harpoon. It is bestowed on Rocket Launchers that have a single rocket clip, as well as high accuracy. It will further improve the weapon's accuracy, as well as increase its bullet velocity. For an explanation on how to interpret the information on the following table, please see the stat modifiers page.
