The Hammer Buster is a legendary Jakobs assault rifle. Hammer Buster is obtained randomly from any suitable loot source, but has an increased chance to drop from McNally located in The Dust.

Usage & Description
As with all Jakobs weapons (with the exclusion of a small number of Unique weapons), the Hammer Buster can never spawn with an elemental effect. Instead, it boasts very high raw stats, with the exception of magazine size and recoil reduction. It is an ornate semi-automatic carbine-style weapon.
Due to the semi-automatic firing mode, it is advised that the user keep their distance from the fray. The Hammer Buster is best utilized at medium-long range, or even as a sniper rifle substitute, especially if it spawns with a scope, as its damage is on par with or greater than most common sniper rifles. Because of the incredibly high raw bullet damage of the Hammer Buster, a user with a good trigger finger can wreak havoc on any foe, and can easily outclass weapons such as the Shredifier in terms of raw damage output.
Trivia
- The name of the weapon is a reference to the Gears of War series of games and novels, specifically the Hammerburst rifle.
- The flavor text is also a reference to this series, in which the father of the main character, Marcus Fenix, is a scientist.
- Oddly enough, while most Legendaries use the manufacturer's unique barrel for that type of weapon, the Hammer Buster uses a variant of the Dahl Assault Rifle barrel.
