Hammer Buster is a legendary assault rifle in Borderlands 2 manufactured by Jakobs. Hammer Buster is obtained randomly from any suitable loot source, but has an increased chance to drop from McNally located in The Dust.

The Hammer Buster boasts very high raw stats with a 50% additive crit bonus and 15% multiplicative crit bonus.
Due to the semi-automatic firing mode and magazine size, the Hammer Buster is best utilized for medium range combat.

- The name of the weapon is a reference to the Hammerburst Assault Rifle in the Gears of War series of games and novels.
- The flavour text is a reference to the webcomic Gears of Awesome by Egoraptor, in which the father of the main character, Marcus Fenix, is a scientist, spoken in the same violent vernacular as the webcomic.
- While most legendary guns use the manufacturer's unique barrel for that type of weapon, the Hammer Buster uses a Dahl assault rifle barrel.
