Grenadier is the Title of a group of Assault Rifles in Borderlands 2. They are manufactured exclusively by Dahl, and use the Torgue grenade / rocket barrel.

Usage & Description

Unlike other weapons which use the Torgue barrel to fire rockets, the Grenadier fires grenades, launching them in an arcing trajectory which allows them to be fired at enemies in cover. Grenades have a slight time delay if they do not strike an enemy, and will bounce off walls and surfaces. Grenades can be elemental. Grenadier weapons always have a remarkably high resale value for no particular reason, making them good for sale. In combat, the extremely high ammo use is not justified by the very mediocre damage they output, even on specialized characters like Axton, so their best use would be as money fodder.

Notes

  • The grenades can be absorbed back after being fired if the Vault Hunter has an Absorption Shield equipped and stands within the blast radius of the grenades when they explode (if they are absorbed the Vault Hunter takes no damage). The absorbed grenades will be added to the Vault Hunter's Launcher rockets, instead of Assault Rifle ammo. Rocketeer Assault Rifles also have this characteristic.
