For the legendary Jakobs assault rifle in Borderlands 3, see Gatling Gun (Borderlands 3).
For the common assault rifle in Borderlands 2, see Gatling Gun.

Gatlin'is a prefix given to common assault rifles manufactured by Jakobs in Borderlands 3.

Usage & Description

Gatlin' is a prefix given before the base weapon's name, instead of a unique product of their own. Like the Masher variants of Jakobs pistols and assault rifles, this prefix gives them a modified firing mode.

Any Jakobs assault rifles that possess the hand-crank trigger will become Gatlin's. They will become capable of firing in fully automatic mode, with the player turning the hand crank while the gun is in use. This makes them the only common Jakobs weapons capable of doing so.

Gatlin's still share Jakobs' signature high damage, low magazine sizes and heavy recoil, making them best suited for close-range encounters. With the proper weapon parts (such as the largest possible magazine size), Gatlin's can become extremely powerful shotgun substitutes that have high ammo efficiency.

Notable Variants

  • Gatling Gun – Legendary assault rifle with an increased fire rate and magazine size.
  • Rowan's Call - Legendary assault rifle that returns 2 bullets to the magazine and ricochets 2 more on a critical hit.

Trivia

  • Gatlin's are the first common Jakobs weapons that are capable of firing in full-auto mode since the first Borderlands.
