(→‎Special Weapon Effects: Actually, no. This is a well known thing with Hyperion Sniper Rifles. As long as you aim, the scope will stabilize itself. This has nothing to do with Fremington's Edge unique ability.)

The Fremington's Edge is a Unique Aftermarket Hyperion Sniper Rifle. Fremington's Edge can be obtained as a rare drop from Assassin Reeth during or after the mission Assassinate the Assassins.

Special Weapon Effects

I can see my house from here. – Increased zoom, increased critical hit damage.

Usage & Description

The Fremington's Edge has the highest zoom scope of any weapon on the game but otherwise it's an average sniper rifle with lower accuracy and damage than standard counterparts. The accuracy of this unique item isn't high enough to compensate for the long distances you can fire it from, so the spread of projectiles often make for a miss. On the other hand, it could be difficult to aim at medium range because of the high zoom, specially if the target is moving.

The +X% Critical Hit Damage applies on top of the 100% base bonus for critical hits with sniper rifles, but only when using the scope. So a scoped critical hit will deal 5x damage plus other bonuses.

Trivia

The name is most likely a reference to a wall of crags and scree slopes in the Yorkshire Dales (in the U.K.) called Fremington Edge. This wall overlooks a town called Reeth (the same name as the NPC who drops it). This also fits in nicely with the flavour text "I can see my house from here".
