Forums: Index > Watercooler > Titles should follow the current game

I propose that articles about weapons, skills, and other things that might have a presence in multiple games but merit separate articles should either:

  1. By default go to the article for the current game (with links to older pages), or
  2. Always go to a disambiguation page

The reasoning for this is that people are more likely to care about content for the current game than earlier ones. This is based on the current state of the wiki, where a lot of Borderlands 2 weapons have the undifferentiated title and BL3 content often has a page title of "The Destroyermancer (Borderlands 3)".

I strongly disagree, I think that, as the Wiki has usually done, it should simply specify in the title which game it is from, e.g. Sledge's Shotgun (Borderlands 1/2/3). This is actually done most of the time, it's just that the wiki has fallen a bit out of use since BL3's launch.

The page simply titles "Sledge's Shotgun" is indeed a disambiguation page.

Having a page lead to the most RECENT iteration is a bad idea, as most people might not be coming here for BL3 content due to BL2 being much more popular in the overall community, and the sales numbers/concurrent players reflect that. BL2 was also Three entries ago, and still played more often than BL3, TPS, or TFTBL.
